The purpose of the resume is to get the interview; the purpose of the interview is to get the job! Each semester, there are several opportunities to learn more about developing a resume that represents you well, and to hear tips for a successful interview. In a Resume Writing Seminar, you will learn what recruiters look for in a resume, what works and what does not work. And in the Interview Skills Seminar, you will hear questions that may be asked of you - and some good answers! Come by the Career Center, check the Web site or give us a call to get the schedule. Please register by 5 p.m. the day before for such events.

Each semester, there are opportunities to visit with recruiters who come to CSU. Some have positions to fill; others provide information. Over 100 companies attend the Careers Expo each spring semester - just to visit with you!

Internships are posted in the Career Center! You must be eligible under the guidelines of your major in order to get course credit. Come and review the options. Plan ahead.
Cooperative education opportunities offer experience and income. Requirements include a 2.5 GPA, at least a sophomore standing and a commitment of two semesters.

Employers want to know that you've done something; they don't necessarily care if you got paid for it. Volunteering your time and talent provides you with real-world experience, contacts for the future, field service, an opportunity to make a difference - and something positive to add to your resume. Cougar Partners at Work & Service (PAWS) connects the campus with the needs of the community. Let us know what you are interested in, and we will help you make the connection.
