Volunteer tips

Be prepared!

When volunteering, please remember that you not only represent the volunteer organization, but Columbus State University as well. As always, it's important to:

• Be on time.
• Be considerate and reliable.
• Abide by the policies of the organization.
• Treat other volunteers with respect and tolerance.

You need to know the specifics before you go! You may want to ask the following questions:

• What time does your volunteer shift begin and end?
• With whom should you check in and out?
• Where should you be and what you should be doing?
• What is the appropriate dress?
• To whom should you refer questions or problems that you are unable to answer or correct?
• Who is your emergency contact and where can they be reached quickly?
