Columbus Museum

Mission Statement:The mission of the Columbus Museum is to collect, preserve, research, and interpret American art and regional culture for the education, enrichment, and enjoyment of a broad and diverse public.

Volunteer Opportunties:Volunteers at the Museum perform a variety of services, ranging from leading docent tours to archeological research. Most of the volunteers are members of one or more of the following support groups: The Museum Guild (a traditional support group that organizes one major fundraiser each year and several smaller events), the Columbus Contemporaries (our “young professional” group which among other things organizes the annual Family Fun Day) needs volunteers for their education art classes and volunteers need to be over 21 years of age, The Guild Gardeners (a group of dedicated volunteers who work on the Olmsted-designed garden), and the Columbus Film Society (screen films as art)
