Lifelink of GA

Mission Statement:LifeLink Foundation is a not-for-profit community service organization dedicated to the recovery and transplantation of an increasing number of high quality organs and tissues for transplant therapy. The Foundation attempts to work sensitively, diligently, and compassionately with donor families to facilitate the donation of desperately needed organs and tissues for waiting patients. The Foundation is committed to working closely with and in support of, the United Network for Organ Sharing`s (UNOS), goals and objectives. The Foundation supports research efforts that will enhance the supply of available organs and tissues for transplant patients and improve the clinical outcome of patients post transplantation. The LifeLink HealthCare Institute implements critical pathways for transplantation care and end-stage disease treatment, allowing for superior patient outcomes while carefully monitoring costs.

Volunteer Opportunties:

  1. Office Assistance: preparation of mailings and special packets, copying, etc.
  2. Materials Distribution: donor information and brochures to community agencies (blood banks, libraries, etc.). All days, varied hours.
  3. Hospital: work with LifeLink staff in professional education programs (speaking, informal walk-throughs, panel discussions, etc.) All days, varied hours.
  4. Driver License Offices: staff a table and display with brochures and other information, encourage people to get the facts, fill out "donor will", and talk to their family about their wishes; assist LifeLink staff at regular "inservices" for driver license examiners.
  5. Public Speaking: schools, clubs, churches, etc. varied hours.
  6. Health Fairs/Information Tables: all malls, fairs, businesses, schools, etc. Varied hours.
  7. Media interviews and letters to editors.
  8. Special Projects: events, memorial services, National Donate Life Month, minority awareness day, etc. Varied hours
