Professional Network / Mentoring Program

What is professional network? It's a Mentoring Program administered through the Career Center to allow alumni, employers and community members to professionally engage and network with our current students.

Employers, community members and alumni have a chance to mentor CSU students and share valuable life lessons, professional advice and career information.

Students get the opportunity to engage with professionals in an environment where they can share their goals and gain pertinent career advice to meet their aspirations.

Alumni, Employers and Community Members can choose to participate in one of the following:

Mentoring

Job Shadowing (1/2 day, full day or longer)

Mock Interviews

Panels / Presentations

Resume Critiques

Advisory Board

How does it work?

Great question! The program can be as simple as an email exchange of questions and answers. It can involve a phone conference where students ask detail questions about specific career choices. Getting feedback from professionals who are already in a specific field can sometimes be just the answer for a student exploring career options!  Finally, professional networking can lead to a job shadowing engagement where students get first-hand experience in a field they are pursuing.

 How much time is involved?

You get to decide on your commitment level.  It's a win-win situation! So... what are you waiting for?
