My CSU Experience as a Co-op Student

"I have learned about the processes and details it takes for an airplane to be made from raw material.  This will help better my understanding of airplanes for Aerospace Engineering."- Pre-engineering major

"It has prepared me for what a nurse experiences on a daily basis, opened up my communication skills, and helped link book knowledge with practicum." - Nursing major

"I do feel that co-ops help prepare for a career after graduation.  Co-ops give practical experience, and are much more educational than reading a book or sitting in a class relating to the job.  They provide experience that can be added to a resume which would help a student stand out from other who have also recently graduated.  Networking can be done at a co-op where a permanent job could be offered after graduation, or the student could be referred to another company within the field.  Also, they give experience into the job world itself, regarding aspects other than the specific duties related to the position, such as working within teams and interacting with supervisors." - Accounting major

"I have learned a lot about office interactions and communication.  I have gained a great opportunity with the federal government, and I now have good work experience." - Applied Mathematics major
